Tria Oris, 2006 (incomplete)

This film wouldn't be fully relized until it was written into a book in december of 2007, titled Preordained and then turned into a trailer in 2008. Tria Oris, meaing three saviors in Latin, was about three kids who were requruited to help deveolp the first completey imersive virtual reality video game. When they were testing a sci-fi first person shooter video game that took place on another plantet, they soon descovered that it was not a game, and everything was real. They then set out to save Earth. While the script was still being written we began filming. This was the pitfall that ruined the film. I learned a valubable leason, never start filming until the script is done. It's alright to constantly revise the script during the filming process but it's imparitive that you don't being production when you don't even know where the film is going. After the first shoot, production stopped, pre-production stopped, everthing stopped. We had some amazing footage that would never see the light of day. But the upside about all of this, is that I learned a great deal.

Volition, 2007 (completed)

Volition, was my first "real" film. We had everything from proffesional equempment to real police officers, and a completed script. Before winter break, I noticed posters up for the 2007 student film festival. Obviously I loved making films so I thought I would enter somthing this year. During winter break I tried to come up with a concept, so I scowered the internet for ideas. It wasn't long before I found something. It was an urban legened about a group of high school students who went up into the woods and took LSD, while they were getting high they saw what they thought to be a goblin in the bushes. They grabbed it and took it home. In the morning they found it to be a small child with down syndrome.

So I took this story and turned it into an anti-drug film. I thought that would apeal to the judges, and sure enough it did. Saddly, we recived second place in the film festival on a technicality. When they were screening our film to the judges, they couldn't get the sound working because their laptop couldn't play the audio codec. A down side to using too advanced technology. However, we did win the elkie award.

Preordained, 2008 (completed)

This was the film that really showed our potential. With over fifty hours of editing, not one shot does not consist of some form of special effects or another. Each scene was editied to make it look as amazing as posable. Preordained was barly completed and I was able to finish editing it only minutes before I had to submit it. Preordained is an adaptation of the book Preordained. With only a skeleton cast, we were able to cobble together enough clips to actually comprise a trailer.

This time we won first place at the Student Film Festival and we recieved a good amount of recognition from the press, which was a first for all of us. This was my last year to enter a film into the festival. It was also my last film I would make. Yes, I did make a few short videos, but when I started to attend Peninsula college in 2009, I no longer had the time to make films. However, I don't plan on leaving filming behind for ever. I know I'll return one day, whether it be a year from now, or a decade. It's in my nature to make movies.
